In all fairness I've known for a few months that Georgetown MBA's Net Impact chapter had been awarded Gold Chapter status (for a 3rd year in a row) ...but it's always exciting when we're honored in the b-school's press release and listed on Net Impact national's website.
Also, registration for the 2012 National Net Impact conference, held in Baltimore this year, is now open. Georgetown is one of the five sponsor schools. Attendees are an even mix of students (undergrads, grads, b-schools and other masters programs) and professionals. For those interested in clean tech and energy, international development, CSR, social impact and nonprofit should definitely attend.
This year, our chapter is planning:
- Social Impact week: Sept 10-14th - each day focuses on a different topic such as impact investing, CSR, health care, ice cream social & a themed Thursday Kegs
- Career Speed Dating with the Georgetown Graduate Net Impact chapter
- Site visits to DC organizations
- Career/conference prep tips
- Much more...
Hope you'll join us!
And now...pictures of our gold status board:
Take 1 - not quite but I love the look on Katie's face (blonde)
Take 2 - A little closer, Erika open your eyes!
Take 3 - Third time's the charm.

Side note: Executive boards for student orgs are elected in December of your first year and serve for a full calendar year. Georgetown's MBA student services hosts an official transition day at school but usually the process begins once the new leaders are elected.
