We are a little over two weeks into school and I'm EXHAUSTED!! How did I completely forget how busy school life is? So, as many of you know - this fall Georgetown launched a new, updated curriculum. Because I started school on the old curriculum, not much changes for my classes. Just one tiny thing - our mods (or quarters) are one week shorter and our classes are a bit longer in time. So when our professor said today that our Final Projects were due in a month - and I thought, not possible - he was right! So we're speeding along, absorbing a lot of content, writing a lot of cases, and applying all of core knowledge I internalized last year on more complex situations.
Despite all the school work - seeing all my friends again after a summer apart has been wonderful! Here I am with my bestie Suki working/laughing in one of the breakout rooms.
(Those wipe boards are really convenient, as you can see.)
It's also been exciting to meet all the new first-year MBA students. The SGA and many of the student-run clubs initiated mentor programs between the first and second years. This helps us get to know eachother and share some of our school and recruiting wisdom. I'm doing this as part of the SGA, Marketing Club and Georgetown Women in Business.
Of course - I'm also beginning recruting for a full-time position after the program is finished. I had such an amazing experience with AmEx this summer, but my family is tied to the DC area - my husband just launched his own consulting business here - so I need to find my next job here. I've applied to one job so far - the Special Advisor Program at the FBI - and I'm excited to look for others.
Hope everyone is having a great week!
Reading this inspired me to start blogging myself! Thank you
